Partner Profile: Netball ACT

Netball ACT is hoping to reap the rewards of a flourishing program as the region aims to move on from the chaos that was 2020.

With just 124 cases of coronavirus recorded in the Australian Capital Territory, the netball community has largely been unaffected with the sport mostly return back to normal pre-COVID life.

But parents and young children certainly haven’t been turned off by the worldwide pandemic, with Suncorp NetSetGo numbers growing exponentially.

The competition is Australia’s official starter program for girls and boys aged five to ten. It teaches them the netball basics and helps them make new friends.

The numbers in the ACT have increased largely from 2019, indicating it has become a very popular for those looking to learn a new sport.

“NetSetGo is seeing the greatest growth and year to date is up 16 per cent when compared to 2019,” Netball ACT told gilbertnetball.com.au.

“Parents continue to acknowledge the clear benefits of children being involved in sport and netball has a great introduction to the sport via NetSetGo.”

As for the organisation’s focus in 2021, Netball ACT explained it was all about “returning to the courts safely, after a disruptive 2020 and reinforcing the physical and mental benefits of playing sport”.

Gilbert Netball products are hugely popular in the ACT with the White Spectra T500 a choice for many individuals and clubs.

The quality and reputation of Gilbert netballs make them an obvious option.

“(They are) excellent quality and reputation of the product ensures long-life use.”
